Nepal is located in South Asia, in-between China and India bordered by the Himalayan mountain range. The area of Nepal in total is 147,181 sq. km. In comparison to the U.S's area Nepal is 54.9% smaller. It's a little bigger than Arkansas to get a visual image. The Tarai plains dominate in the southern terrain of the country, followed by the central hill region stretching through the middle, topped by the Himalayan region in the North. Rivers run all throughout Nepal, and they are treated as if they were goddesses by the people. They are split up into three different systems depending on their origins as follows: Koshi, Gandaki, and the Karnali system. The Trisuli river attracts white water rafting adventures and is located in central Nepal. The highest point in Nepal is Mt. Everest at 8,050m which is also the highest point in all of Asia. It's astonishing that Nepal's landlocked position holds 8 of the 10 tallest peaks in the world. Nepal rocks, literally because of it's rocky geographical characteristics.
